Sarah Ryan to represent the Liberal Democrats in Kettering at the upcoming election
Local Liberal Democrats have appointed Sarah Ryan as their candidate to deliver a fairer society for everyone in Kettering
Last Friday, the 24th of May, local Liberal Democrats formally appointed Sarah Ryan as their candidate for Kettering at the upcoming General Election. Sarah has campaigned actively on national policies around business and economics as well as local issues including crime and local services. Professionally, Sarah has spent her career working in finance and understands how years of Conservative incompetence and cronyism have negatively impacted economic growth.
Asked about her appointment, Sarah said ‘I believe that Kettering deserves a strong and progressive voice in Westminster, someone who will stand up for the interests of the people, not the privileged few’. Sarah is committed to fighting for a fairer society and the issues that matter to the people of Kettering – ensuring everyone has access to quality health care when they need it, excellent education that opens minds and opportunities, and the housing that is needed. She is committed to supporting a more democratic and transparent system of governance, where citizens have a say in the decisions that affect their lives.
If elected, Sarah will work hard to deliver on the following key priorities:
- Investing in the NHS and social care, and ensuring that frontline workers are paid properly and protected.
- Boosting the local economy and creating green jobs, by supporting small businesses, innovation, and renewable energy.
- Improving the quality and affordability of education, from early years to lifelong learning, and reducing the attainment gap.
- Protecting the environment and tackling the climate emergency, by reducing emissions, promoting public transport, and enhancing green spaces.
- Strengthening the rights and opportunities of individuals, and combating discrimination and hate crime.
- Reforming the political system and restoring trust in democracy, by introducing proportional representation and devolving power to local communities.
